Shortly after the tragic September 11, 2001 attacks, a flag was gifted to Christopher Heisler by the Texas House of Representatives. Like many Americans, Heisler felt compelled to take action during a horrific time for the United States and with this flag in tow, he set out for Ground Zero. Along the way, Heisler helped to organize and be part of one of the longest police motorcades in the history of the United States bound for Ground Zero bringing many tokens of support to our nation’s heroes. This one United States flag flew over Ground Zero and a suggestion was made that this flag continue to fly in support of our heroes.

Soon after, while in the military, Heisler carried this particular flag with him to Kuwait, Qatar, and Iraq to fly with American Soldiers in combat zones. Upon seeing the flag flying among the soldiers in Iraq, a Command Sergeant Major would soon refer to this flag as one of honor and the flag is now named the United States Honor Flag.

Since September 2001, the United States Honor Flag has paid tribute to those who have lost their life in the line of duty protecting our lives, our homes, and our country and also those who currently serve our communities and our nation.

In the spirit of patriotism, Christopher and his wife Tammy formed The Honor Network in support of our nation’s heroes. The Honor Network is a nonprofit organization dedicated to memorializing those heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for their family, community and country and also to foster education of the American public regarding those heroes and today’s heroes and their organizations including police, fire, and our nation’s military. The Honor Network was founded on the conviction that every person who is committed in service to our communities and country deserve the support of every single American and that an increase in American patriotism is vital in keeping our great nation united.

In support of this great American organization, the United States Honor Flag Individual Supporters Group (ISG) has been formed to support the heroic efforts of this organization. The ISG is a private group of individuals who collectively support the mission of the United States Honor Flag, The Honor Network, and all of the families of our fallen heroes.
